We’re excited to share some brand new features and improvements to DataTouch – including crew management, high-wind weather alerts, one-PIN attendee sign-offs, and enhanced workflow tools. In order to see and use these new features on DataTouch, remember to update the system to version 4.21.5. Let’s dive into what’s new!
New Features
Crew management: We’re pleased to introduce a powerful new feature in the system that allows you to assign specific crews to activities or hotspots, as well as single operatives. This enables you to build out specialist crews in the new crew management section to assign to an activity, ensuring the assigned crew are qualified to the activity. Users can also assign a particular date range to hotspots of the crew involved, allowing work from different crews throughout the date range of a hotspot.
This enhancement improves accountability and visibility of who performed the work by linking crew members from the DataTouch database to specific tasks, enabling more detailed reporting, accurate tracking and streamlined workforce management.

Weather safety alerts: High-wind warnings have been added in to enhance on-site safety and coordination. Wind speeds in project settings will now be highlighted when they exceed safe lifting thresholds, set to your own metrics.
This visual alert helps ensure that teams are quickly aware of unsafe wind conditions, can take prompt action and coordinate accordingly, lifting operations can be adjusted to maintain safety, and proactive decision-making is carried out to improve overall project health & safety.

Multi-select attendee confirmation: Admins will now be able to select multiple attendees and confirm sign-in with a single PIN entry, streamlining the sign-in process for daily activity briefing meetings.
Improvements
Automatic web log-in links: New users will receive a web link to log-in and set their PIN upon creation, linked to DataScope’s workforce management system to streamline onboarding.
Sticky note enhancements: We’ve introduced new editing capabilities for enhanced planning and updates.
Improved task sorting: Unassigned tasks will be separated by document type, improving the ways to view permits from our health & safety platform, and programmed activities from our collaborative planning.
Dashboard toolbar date picker: Users can now select specific date ranges for dashboards.

Drawing & visual tools: Users can edit drawings for better clarity and customisation, and copy all drawings to specific dates.
Visual system updates: We’ve added in the ability to change app backgrounds and manage upload destinations for drawings.
