The first Tilbury Douglas project to go live with DataTouch, Nick Parish and the team at Brooksy Melton College have used our digital co-ordination tool to drive noticeable improvements in how Daily Briefings are conducted, co-ordinated and reported on – seeing results in weeks, not months.

Setting up for Success

Despite DataTouch being live for just 4 short months, it has transformed meetings from a box-ticking exercise to focused, quick and engaging co-ordination sessions that give the team the visibility and insights needed to spot potential issues and address them early.

Although the project is in its early stages, Nick and the project team wanted to embed DataTouch on the project early, not only to realise its benefits quickly, but to also drive the right behaviours across the supply chain.

“Having the process up and running now means we embed the right behaviours from the start. Once activity starts ramping up, and more subcontractors begin works, we are confident that we have a robust process and expectations in place to ensure everybody is on board and follows process quickly”

Co-Ordinated Briefings, 70% More Efficient

With trades now populating works on DataTouch from their own devices prior to the meeting, daily briefings are now focused on managing exceptions and resolving issues, rather than spending time waiting for trades to specify their works. This has meant that time spent in meetings has already been reduced by 70% as well as trades who are more engaged in their areas of responsibility.

Better Visibility of Planned Activity

With the interactive site drawing now allowing the team to mark-up and visualise works and planned resource, the team can now visualise work activity better and have improved visibility of exactly where resource has been allocated and has helped the team to identify inefficiencies and challenge ahead of time, when needed.

Quality Data, Better Reporting

The need to manually write reports has been eliminated, and instead of being filed away at the end of every meeting, they are automatically generated, emailed out and visible to key stakeholders across the project. Crucially it means that daily reports reach the hands of those team members who may not be on site every day – giving key visibility of the work that is taking place and what has been agreed.

“So far, there have been only positives from DataTouch. We have seen the benefits almost immediately. We can visualise work activity better, meetings are quicker and subcontractors have taken to using it straight away. It’s been a game-changer for us”
