DataScope Insights Day 2025: The Impact of Integrated Project Delivery in Construction

At the beginning of May, DataScope held an exclusive event that gathered industry experts from around the globe and diverse project backgrounds to share insights on Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) in construction. The event highlighted IPD’s real-world impact on key stakeholders and the positive outcomes achieved across various projects.

As part of the day’s agenda, we were thrilled to welcome guest speakers Doug Mouton, Mark Hanbury, Jason Crowell and Jackson Menke who delivered informative talks to our audience and engaged with questions and discussions.
Bringing a wealth of knowledge within the data centre sector and a psychological perspective, Doug and Mark started off the speaking sessions with a focus on, ‘How engaging the entire team with the construction schedule drives production, reduces rework and improves quality‘.

This session explored the critical importance of field engagement and leadership in enabling safe, efficient project delivery at scale, particularly in the fast-growing data centre sector. Through a case study from Amsterdam, where DataScope was deployed, Doug and Mark illustrated how integrating workforce engagement with digital tools significantly improved safety, quality, schedule, and trust across teams.
They emphasised that while software like DataScope’s is powerful, its success hinges on people: leaders at all levels who build trust, foster autonomy, and drive adoption. Some key learnings from the session included the value of psychological insight, the need for cultural buy-in, and the importance of identifying both champions and blockers to scale transformation effectively.
With an expertise in HSE management on major data centre projects, Jason and Jackson led the second session of the day, sharing their thoughts on the topic, ‘How does IPD support stronger health and safety‘.

Jason and Jackson described how BCEI and EdgeConneX are leveraging DataScope globally to drive consistency, accountability, and efficiency across their projects. Originally focused on site access, the platform now supports live dashboards, mobile reporting, digital permits, and safety planning tools that streamline operations and enhance decision-making. By using data to hold supervisors accountable, predict risks, manage permits, and track workforce health, they detailed how they’ve improved safety outcomes and reduced inefficiencies. They recognised that digital tools enable proactive risk management, streamlined processes, and consistent safety culture, ensuring safer, more efficient project delivery worldwide.
DataScope’s Adrian Butt, Joe Desormeaux, and Charlie Butt concluded the day’s sessions by exploring the ongoing digital transformation in construction, highlighting the industry’s move from traditional tools to integrated platforms, like DataTouch, that provide a single source of truth.
They talked about the value of real-time data sharing, improved team coordination, and leveraging site data to support more informed decisions.
Guests were then invited to explore our IPD room; an interactive demonstration space simulating a project planning environment, featuring tools like DataTouch to help users visualise and analyse live project data.
A huge thank you to our guest speakers for your valuable contributions and to all our guests for being part of the day and actively engaging with the sessions.
